List of Predatory Publishers 2014

6 January, 2014

Here’s an interesting list of allegedly predatory journals, but even more interesting is the troll of comments below the list. While I tend to agree with those who talk in favour of open-access forums, I would, when searching for a journal to publish my article, check this list and of course do some careful research on the journals that attract my attention.

This list has become a gold standard, despite criticisms of Beall by predatory publishers. I check it constantly, so that Ican refuse to submit, referee for, or recomment the journals on the list.
You can also look at John Lamp’s page at Deakin to see what the Australian government considers to be a journal with enough reputation to be suitable for inclusion on the ERA list. http://lamp.infosys.deakin.edu.au/era/
We do not know what is on the current (2015) ERA list, which is regrettable, but somebody in your University will know.
