Culture and Context in World Politics

7 March, 2007

Stephanie Lawson, a professor of politics who joined Macquarie University last year, visited the How Does Culture Matter? seminar last night. Her work seems to be very much in the vein of our own. Originally a specialist of the South Pacific, her last book, Culture and Context in World Politics, is a critique of the culture fever in international relations theory. The book devotes considerable space to the evolution of anthropological ideas about culture. The launch of the book will be on 10 May at Macquarie.
