I think the operative word in the above quote is "automatic". In your example you've cited a number of conditions. Could you provide evidence to the effect that all converts to Judaism are automatically eligible for Israeli citizenship? Otherwise, I believe the original point stands.

Do your research. Sincere converts who have lived in a Jewish community in the diaspora are eligible to make aliyah under the law of return.

I should check and see whether the DFG in Germany also has an OA policy. I have a friend who is a librarian at Max Planck and something of an OA maven. I’ll see if she can enlighten me on this.

There is no “correct position” on race. We only deal in science. And science tells us that race is a social construction. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anthropology is so wide off the mark when it comes to race that I felt it necessary to drop a few links, so that other who read this blog might actually take the correct position on race, which is agnosticism.

My university, the Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands, also has an official policy of encouraging open access. This may in fact be a more general Dutch Science Organisation (NWO) policy.
